Come & Sing
Morten Lauridsen:
Madrigali, Six Fire Songs
Saturday 18 June 2022,
10.00 - 4.00
St Andrew's Church, Summertown
Oxford OX2 6UG

Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium  has become a much-loved staple of the Christmas repertoire.  His Madrigali, all based on his 'fire chord', have the same rich texture but with a greater range of rhythm and speed.  Beautiful, challenging and rewarding to sing, these songs make an ideal subject for a day's workshop.

Under the direction of David Crown, vOx has specialised in singing a cappella works from the Renaissance through to contemporary, with a continuing focus on excellence in singing and choral technique.  Do come and join us to explore these modern American masterpieces.

The Venue

St Andrew's church offers not only a perfect acoustic for these works but also a great venue to spend the day; the church has extensive high quality amenities, plenty of break-out space and is warm with comfortable seating.

Performance

In addition to the end-of-the-day scratch performance, vOx is also offering participants the option singing the first of the Madrigali in our full summer concert.
